What you’ll do:

  • Work closely with the Product and UX design team members, and other software engineers
  • Do Test Driven Development (TDD) in Ruby on Rails and Javascript
  • Develop and use RESTful APIs
  • Write unit and integration tests with RSpec and Jasmine
  • A mix of paired and solo programming, solving complex challenges
  • Regular refactoring (we keep our code base clean!)
  • Constantly learn and use leading edge technologies
  • Contribute to the open source community
  • Be proud of writing software that is being used to make vulnerable children more safe
  • Work closely with users and client stakeholders

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 3+ years experience doing agile software development
  • Experience doing TDD in Rails
  • Familiarity with build and deploy pipeline
  • Passion for writing great software

Where you’ll work:

  • Your base will be Sacramento
  • You will work “on site” with clients when you are on a client project
  • You will work in a mix of office/home when you are not on a client project
  • Travel to NYC office may be required quarterly
